Deposits & payments
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking and must be received within 14 days of the quote being given. The balance of payment for a wedding cake is due 1 month before the delivery date.
Payments may be made by cash, or bank transfer (preferred)
Alterations to orders
Any alterations to orders must be confirmed in writing and may be subject to an additional charge. Late amendments to orders are often possible and every effort will be made to accommodate changes, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Sharon Lord Cakes reserves the right, in exceptional circumstances, to replace 1 or more cake tiers with a “dummy” cake to maintain the integrity of the cake or to use artistic licence to make minor alterations to the agreed design.
Cancellation of orders
Orders, excluding wedding cakes, that are cancelled within 1 week of the delivery date will be charged 50% of the outstanding balance.
If a wedding cake is cancelled within 1 month of the delivery date, the full cost of the cake will be non-refundable.
In the unlikely event of Sharon Lord Cakes being unable to supply your cake due to circumstances beyond our control all payments will be refunded in full. No further compensation will be awarded.
Delivery/ collection
Sharon Lord Cakes will no longer be responsible for any cake once it has been collected by the customer or their representative. If we have been commissioned to deliver and set up the cake it will remain our responsibility until such time it is handed over to the customer or their representative eg. caterer or venue management.
Whilst every effort will be made to deliver a cake, we cannot be held liable for weather, traffic or other conditions that are beyond our control. Any financial compensation for non-delivery, which is deemed the fault of Sharon Lord Cakes, is limited to the cost of the order.
Colour matching
A colour sample should be provided if a specific colour is required. Please note that whilst we will endeavour to match the colour as closely as possible, an exact match may not be achievable.
Allergens
Cakes may be made without nuts, dairy or gluten but as these are used in our kitchen, we cannot guarantee that cross-contamination will not occur. It is the responsibility of the customer to inform those who may eat the cake that allergens could be present.
